Create multiple first Shenzhou-13

2021-10-21

The Shenzhou-13 was successfully launched at 0:23 on October 16, 2021. For the first time, it used the autonomous rapid radial rendezvous and docking mode to successfully dock the radial ports of the Tianhe core module. The cargo spacecraft No. 2 forms a four-cabin combination, and the entire rendezvous and docking process lasts about 6.5 hours.

The three astronauts will stay here for six months, which will be the longest time for China's manned spacecraft to stay in space for the first time, and it will also be the first time that it has the emergency rescue capability that combines heaven and earth with multiple guarantees. Among the three astronauts, it was the first time that a female astronaut came to work on the Chinese space station and carried out exit activities. The Shenzhou-13 this time has created many first highlight moments for us. In the next six months, the Shenzhou-13 astronaut crew will have heavy tasks. The three astronauts will spend a lot of time to cooperate in the preliminary verification of the key technologies involved in the construction of the space station. For example, during the Shenzhou-13 mission, a transposition test of the Tianzhou-2 cabin will be carried out. During the mission, the astronauts will also carry out two to three outings. In addition, the three astronauts will also assist in advancing space medicine work and enhance scientists' understanding of microgravity physics. In their spare time, they will do more space science education and make space closer to the public. Researchers on the ground will also pay close attention to the health of the three people and understand the impact of long-term space flight on humans' mind and body.

The Shenzhou-13 mission demonstrated China’s new efforts and contributions to mankind’s manned space missions. China will continue to carry out broader and deeper international cooperation and exchanges, and make positive contributions to exploring the mysteries of the universe, peaceful use of outer space, and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
